Matheson Recruiting was originally founded as the Hotel Leadership Group in 1990 by Ken Matheson. Building on associations with Patricia Sherr, a human resources professional and Michael Branch, a veteran hotelier and seasoned hotel recruiter, Hotel Leadership Group established itself as a leader in the hospitality recruiting industry. Since then, Matheson Recruiting has affiliated itself with Ken Herst, a long time recruiter in the hotel, club and restaurant industries based in Houston and with Mari Day, a well known HR consultant in Hawaii.
KEN MATHESON
Ken Matheson worked in the hotel industry for 15 years with major U.S. chains and independents acquiring detailed knowledge of all operational areas. He has extensive experience in front and back of the house management, including General Manager and has worked with Marriott, Sheraton, Westin and independent luxury hotels and resorts in Washington DC, Florida, and Hawaii. Since 1990 Ken has focused on recruiting for upscale hotels and resorts throughout the U.S.

PATRICIA PANERO SHERR
Patricia Panero Sherr has worked in the human resources field opening and staffing hotels from 200 to 2,000 rooms for companies such as Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Westin, and Loews. This experience has given Pat an invaluable network of associates throughout the U.S. and Europe and a good knowledge of many labor markets. In regional and corporate HR positions she recruited candidates at all levels of management. Pat is founder of the Leadership Group, a DC based consulting company.

Ken Herst, MHS. As a Food & Beverage professional Ken opened 15 restaurants in the Chicago area, Ohio and Upstate New York, 2 hotels in Kentucky and Ohio and managed a prestigious officer's club in the New York city area. He has served the hospitality industry in recruiting and consulting since 1978. Based in the Houston, TX area he spans the hospitality industry from restaurants, clubs, high rise luxury condominiums, resorts and hotels. Ken is certified as a Master Hotel Supplier by the AH&LA.

MARI DAY
Mari Day - if you work in the hotel industry in Hawaii, you know Mari's name. She has worked as Director of Human Resources and as a consultant in Hawaii for 30 years with Hyatt, Westin, Ritz-Carlton, Amfac, Aston, Hawaiian Airlines and numerous independent resort companies throughout the islands. Her experience runs the gamut including openings, takeovers to turnarounds.
